My mother-in-law is a 77 year old woman who was recently diagnosed with mouth and lymph node cancer. I have a phobia about dentists to the point that I have to take anxiety medication before any dental appointment. Dr. Castañeda is so kind and caring that after the first 4-5 visits, I no longer needed medication. Over the past few years, he and his staff have seen me through obtaining upper and lower partials plates, as well as a mouthpiece and dental care during radiation therapy for Throat/ Neck Cancer. I have had TMJ for over 20 years. Each year it became progressively worse, to the point of not being able to open my mouth to eat a sandwich or a banana. My dentist recommended Dr. Castañeda (having been taught by him in Dental School) and I made an appointment this past January. Dr. Castañeda had a mouth split molded to fit my lower teeth and I began wearing the split day and night. Within a two week period I was able to open my jaw several centimeters wider than I had and over a two month period I was able to double the opening. I was no able to open my mouth widely, so I went to Dr. Castañeda, my regular dentistry. He notice the difficulty that I had to breath and he ask me if I snore, my answer was yes. So he pays attention to diagnostic what I had exactly. Then, he told me that I was suffering of sleep disorder and he refer me to a specialized clinic where they treat me my condition. Later, Dr. Castañeda prescribed for me a dental device to prevent my snoring. After two weeks when I gave me the device, I started to use it. From the first night my snoring stop, and now I enjoy the benefits of this device. My wife also is very thankful with Dr. Castañeda to help me in the solution of my problem.

My health was failing and my doctor recommended that I under go a sleep apnea test. Once it had been conducted, the test results confirmed that I had obstructive sleep apnea.
